The coverage of health insurance in Indonesia is still low. Research conducted in countries that have not achieved universal health coverage showed knowledge is one of the main barriers of the enrollment. The aim of this study is to prove whether there is a relation between national health insurance knowledge and enrollment of national health insurance Methods The study designed was cross sectional analysis. The samples were taken from 139 respondents and interviewed using questionnaires that have been tested. Data was analyzed by univariate and bivariate analysis with statistical test Chi Square at 95% confidence interval. Results The study found that 64,1% respondents have been covered with national health insurance. 28.8% respondents had poor knowledge, 44,6% had enough knowledge, 26,6% had good knowledge. According to the result of bivariate analysis, there is a significant impact of national health insurance toward the enrollment of national health insurance (p value = 0,004, ). Conclusions National health insurance knowledge have an impact on the enrollment of national health insurance. Socialization is one of the ways to achieve universal health coverage.
