Musculoskeletal pain, including neck pain, shoulder pain and low back pain is a common problem in this modern civilization. Neck pain could cause discomfort, disability, impaired quality of life, and daily activity interference. Neck movement is one of the active movements in daily activity. The cervical spine and surrounding anatomical structures support all of neck movement. Cervical spine range of motion value is affected by many contributing factors. Method. This study was a cross sectional descriptive research conducted from April until May 2015 in Medical Faculty of Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia using the population sampling method. Each participant of this research was given a questionnaire and measured with a goniometry on the next day. Result. The average of cervical spine range of motion in students who had neck pain are as follows (in degree); flexion 21.1 (±11.73), extension 30 (±14.29), right lateral flexion 28 (±7.14), left lateral flexion 25.6 (±7.97), right rotation 51.16 (±12.88), and left rotation 50 (±14.68). Conclusion. Students who did not have neck pain or categorized as normal have a greater cervical spine range of motion than those who had neck pain.
