Isi artikelThis study attempts to scrutinize lesson plans developed by teachers during professional in-service training for teacher certification at Tanjungpura University, Indonesia. The major problems in lesson planning were learning objectives, learning material, teaching techniques/methods, and assessment. They all believed that the training was valuable for them in refreshing their ability in language teaching. This study showed that although curriculum and approach in language teaching always changes, the way of teaching remains same. Those only focus on the knowledge than the language function. The recommendation of this research is that teachers should have sustained professional developments (PD).
