The objective of this study was to find out whether there is a significant correlation among reading attitude and reading habit of public vocational school students in Palembang and their reading achievement. The method used was descriptive method and the design was in the form of correlational study. There were seven public vocational schools as the population. By using stratified random sampling, 270 students were taken as the sample from SMK N 2 Palembang, SMK N 3 Palembang and SMK N 6 Palembang. The data were collected by using questionnaire and test. The results of the questionnaire and test were analyzed by using Pearson’s Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis. The result showed that there were significant correlations between students’ reading attitude (both in English and in Bahasa Indonesia) and students’ reading achievement (RAt_Eng+RAt_Ind=.157; R2=.025), and between students’ reading habit (both in English and in Bahasa Indonesia) and students’ reading achievement (RH_Eng+RH_Ind=.169; R2=.028). There was also significant correlation among students’ reading attitude in English, students’ reading habit in English and students’ reading achievement (RAt_Eng+RH_Eng=.253; R2=.064). And the highest coefficient was in the combination among all of independent variables and students’ reading achievement (RAt_Eng+RAt_Ind+RH_Eng+RH_Ind=.277; R2=.077). Although the contribution of reading attitude and reading habit to English reading achievement was small, both of the independent variables influenced the dependent variable. The results of this study showed that students’ reading habit was low. The school is hoped to facilitate the students in accessing the book so that the students can improve their competence and knowledge. By having good competence and good skill, the graduates of public vocational school will be ready for work.
