Clinical skill is one of learning outcome that want to be achieved in health profession education. Students learn clinical skills through some steps and phases. Many models have been arranged by experts to explain the steps and phases of clinical skills learning process. Students need clinical teacher or clinical instructor to facilitate their clinical skills learning. The model, paradigm, operational aspect and technique of facilitating process are described by clinical teaching models. Facilitating process create interaction between students and clinical instructors. The interactions between students and instructors are influenced by their role and function. Situational leadership theory illustrates clinical instructor as a leader. There are correlation between clinical skills learning phases, clinical teaching models and situational leadership. Knowing this correlation is important for the instructor. The paper will describe this correlation and this impact to the instructor role.
