Abstract
Background. Access for using various media as a tool to get information is very easy, include information about reproductive health. Reproductive health education that is given to students hopefully can widen the view of reproductive health so the reproductive health education can give positive effects for their life. Goal. The aim of the research is to determine the effectivity of reproductive health eduacation for fifth grade male students of Strada Santa Maria Tangerang 2015.
Method. This study was an experimental study with comparative paired categorical analytic research design by comparing the knowledge level of fifth grade male students before and after the reproductive health education was given by health provider. The result of pretest and posttest was score and score category (good, sufficient, less).
Result. The pretest score median of the students is 20 which is classified as less. The median of the students’ posttest is 60 which is classified as sufficient. The results of this study shows there is a significant increase in the knowledge level after the reproductive health education (p=0.00 with Wilcoxon non parametric test).
Conclusion. Reproductive Health Education can be told as an effective education based on pretest and posttest. Reproductive health education can be told as a success
education if it can give the right knowledge and not giving the negative effects for students.
Suggestion. Educational institutions can give the reproductive health education from the medical side by trained personnel and advanced researchers can reassess on the same respondents when they are in high school.
