Background: There are many sexual deviation offenders cases in Indonesia caused by lack of information. Sexual education become a vital information that needs to be given to the children, therefore, the sexual development is expected not to end in the wrong path. Schools may play a role in preventing sexual misconduct by providing the right information to the child. Methods: This was an experimental study with comparative analytical research design to analyse categorical pairs. The study compared the level of knowledge before and after the reproductive health seminar among the students in fifth grade of elementary school Strada St. Maria using a non-standarized pretest and posttest. Results: The results of this study showeds there was a significant increase in the level of knowledge after reproductive health seminar (non-parametric Wilcoxon test, p=0.00). Conclusion: The low knowledge in reproductive health among fifth class of elementary school students increase after reproductive health seminar, suggesting that reproudctive health information was effective, therefore, the seminar was recommended to enhance the knowledge. |
