Background: Malaria becomes health problem in Pekalongan district, especially in the malaria endemic subdistricts, including Kandangserang subdistrict, which area is hared to reach and it influences the attempt to eradicate malaria, especially through vector controlling. The study was carried out to investigate the efficacy of the use of mosquito coil containing 0.2% d-Allethrin and the effectiveness in controlling the malaria vector at Gembong village of Kandangserang subdistrict of Pekalongan regency. Design and Methods: This study was quasi experiment with control time series design. Respondents were divided into 3 treatments groups of mosquito coil Containing 0,2% d-Allethrin, control and placebo, with 50 respondents for each group the in-field test is conducted by paying special attention to Anopheles aconitus mosquito, which is the malaria vector in the village simultaneously with the effectiveness test of the uses of the repellent considering the criteria of rational, effective, efficient, sustainable, acceptable and affordable (REESAA). The data was collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The mosquito bite and the mosquito density were reduced as 77.15%, 88%, 17%, 11.4%, 40%, 30% for each treatment group, the control and the placebo using the mosquito coil respectively. The effectiveness of REESAA criteria, has significant value (p < 0.005). Conclusions: The mosquito coil containing 0.2% d-Allethrin was effective for controlling malaria vector at Gembong village of Kandangserang subdistrict of Pekalongan regency
