The objective of this study was to investigated the bioremoval activity of chromium (Cr) heavy metal in phytoplankton. These samples were collected from mine acid drainage at Cempaka, Banjarbaru Regency, and isolated with modified medium. The Cr bioremoval treatment was doing in CrS04 stock solution with 5 ppm concentration with different number of phytoplankton (0.15 g/L; 0.30 g/L; 0.45 g/L) for 24 hours. Preparation of Cr heavy metal from phytoplankton samples by using wet digestion methods, while the analysis of Cr in phytoplankton biomass by using Atomic Absorbent Spectrophotometric methods. The result showed that phytoplankton culture (chlorophyta, cyanophyta and phaeophyta) has bioremoval Cr ability (activity) among 4.75 percent to 21.60 percent.
