Abstract
In industries, failure of the equipment to function became a major contribution to the production losses and high maintenance cost. Therefore, there is a need to have an optimal maintenance strategy such as replacement, repair and inspection. Before any optimal maintenance strategy can be implemented failure distribution and the parameters of the machine’s component need to be identified. PT. Hargas Industries Indonesia (PT. HII) is engaged in the wood processing industry. The problems that occur in the PT. HII is still the existence of waste in the form of a defective product (reject) that causes reduced production quantity of which was expected, causing losses. This is directly related to the production machines, the treatment has been carried out by companies that have an impact on financial losses and time wasted to repeat the manufacture of products from scratch. The purpose of this study is to analyze the proper treatment system for Finger Joint Laminating machine so as to minimize downtime and reduce the cost of maintenance. All of these things ultimately to improve the reliability and availability of production machines. The process of search root causes problems using Reliability Centered Maintenance II (RCM II) where there is a damage analysis using FMEA and RCFA to analyze the damage of root causes. Furthermore, analyzing the fit distribution to apply to each component using the Least Square Cuve fittings (LSCF) method and Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE method). Then the calculation of preventive replacement and replacement checks using the model Age Replacement and Block Replacement. Furthermore, the calculation of the Reliability and Availability and also the comparative cost of maintenance. Based on the objectives to be achieved is to minimize downtime and minimizing the cost of the scheduling method chosen for component cutter is Block Replacement with savings amounting to Rp 74.486 .000, - and total availability in the amount of 96.35%. For glue head components and hydraulic do not need to use maintenance system but still have to do periodic inspections in accordance with the SOP proposal that has been given.
