Isi artikel
As one of the major components in human cell membranes, phosphatidylserine (PS) holds an important role to maintain efficient neuronal transmission. Aging, neurological disease or trauma can affect the normal level of PS which in turn, at the extreme, could lead to loss of cognitive abilities such as dementia. There have been numerous studies on PS benefits related to memory loss which led the American authorities to issue approval for PS health claims on prevention of dementia. This is the only case in America in which a dietary supplement may legally make a claim related to the risk of dementia.
