If someone wants to have information on the decisions and policies of the EU regarding telecommunication in particular and mass media in general, they should read this volume. Informative and complete, the book represents a good point of departure for any discussion about the role the EU has played so far in the field of mass communication and what its future role might be. In anticipation of such a discussion, the author advances an interpretive proposal that is very negative with regard to the choices taken in Brussels and Strasbourg: it will not be possible to develop a European citizenship until the EU decides to fill the gap that has been produced so far in the field of political communication.
