Isi artikelPrint journalists must demonstrate a greater creative skill, it is argued, to present a story in text format, sometimes accompanied by a photographic image, forcing them to make critical conclusions about a story. Broadcast TV journalists, in contrast, rely on video images as the focus of their reporting. A photograph can say more than a thousand words, just in the eyes of the audience, and even more on television. In instances of conflict, TV journalists can cast themselves as observers to events, standing on the sidelines merely reporting what they, and audiences, actually see, rather than as interpreters of events, which is the role sometimes ascribed to print journalists.
