Isi artikel
This book has an ambitious agenda. In its own words, it is ‘concerned with describing and explaining the key trends and issues in journalism and news culture in the early twenty-first century’ (p. 3). Some of the pertinent trends and issues the book addresses are the transformation of news organizations and work practices by new technologies, the increased commercialization of news industries, the changing relationships of media to the public and audiences, as well as several other issues. In contrast to much research with an exclusive focus on journalism in the US and Great Britain the aim is also to provide a more nuanced picture of trends in journalism in a variety of European countries, including the post- Communist societies.
