Studies have shown that hyperglycemia worsen outcomes of acute ischemic stroke patients. Neurological deficits is getting worse by hyperglycemia than stroke patients with euglycemia. Objective: The purpose of this research is to find out correlation between blood sugar level in acute ischemic stroke patients and its neurological outcome. Methods: The cross sectional study was implemented through data collections that have been conducted in Atma Jaya Hospital using medical records of acute ischemic stroke patients from 203-2014. The records contain patients characteristics, blood sugar levels, and NIHSS score, which then being analyzed with Fisher's Exact test. Results: There were 77 patients, the majority (53.2%) of patients have normal blood sugar levels, while the other (46.8%) patients have hyperglycemia. Average blood sugar level for all patients on admission are 157 (+- 75.24) mg/dL. Median baseline NIHSS score was 8 points for patients on admission,while median baseline after interventions was 4 points. Fisher Exact test revealed correlation between high blood glucose admission and median baseline NIHSS score (P=0.0016). While between baseline median after intervention (P=0.001).
