Abstract
Background.Age 0-3 years is the golden age of children’s growth and development.There are many factors that couldinfluence children’s growth and development such as nutritional status, immunization status and birth weight.However, the prevalence of children withmalnutritionand low birth weight is still quite high in Jakarta.Many children did not complete their immunization and some had not even been immunized. This study aims to find outcorrelationbetween nutritional status, immunization status, and birth weight with the growth and development of children aged 1-2 years in PosyanduKelurahanPenjaringan I, Jakarta Utara.
Method.This research was carried out by using descriptive analytical method with cross sectional study. The number of samples was 60children aged 1-2 years and their mothers who cameto Posyandu Kelurahan Penjaringan I, Jakarta Utara.The data was analyzed using chi square test with a=0,05.
Results.There is a significant association between nutritional status and children’s growth (p = 0,004). Significant association isalso showed between birth weightand children's development (p = 0,003).
Conclusions.Nutritional status affects children’s growth and low birth weight affects children’s development.
