Abstract
Background. Knowledge and comprehension of biomedical science in preclinic year are the basic foundation of a doctor’s competence in making clinical decisions. Biomedical science will support clinical approach and will enable the clinician to manage the unsolved health problems. This research is conducted to answer the complaints about the clicnical students’ pathophysiology’s knowledge.
Objective. To elucidate the association of interest, learning motivation and biomedical science’s score and the respondents’ understanding of the importance of biomedical science.
Method. The design of this study was cross sectional with descriptive analytical approach. Eighty three respondents included in an online questionnaire-based survey on ARCS. Data analysis were done by chi-square and ANOVA arithmetic means with the p=0.05.
Result. The data analysis shows a significant association between interest and motivation, interest and biomedical science’s score; a non-significant association between motivation and biomedical scince’s score with p=0.168. External component of motivation may cause the insignificancy association.
Conclusion. There are associations between interest and motivation, interest and biomedical science. Besides, there is a tendency of a significant association between motivation and biomedical science’s score.
