Nurses often experience work stresses from excessive work load, big responsibility, and concern for their carrier development which may lead to menatal and emotional disorder. Objective. The objective of this research is to find the realtion between work stresses and psychopathology in in-patient ward and out-patien ward nurses of Atma Jaya Hospital. Method. This cross-sectional study, from 66 nurses (in-patient ward and out-patient ward) who were taken randomly, was started from October 203 to November 2014 at Atma Jaya Hospital. This reseacrh used demographic questionnaire, Survey Diagnostic Stress 30 (SDS-30) questionnaire, and Symptoms CheckList Questionnaire (SCI-90). Result. Out of 66, 22.8% nurses had psychopathology such as 18.9% obsessive-compulsive disorder, 17.3% interpersonal sensitivity, and 13.1% symptoms of other disorders. In-patient nurses had more moderate level of stess compare to out-patient nurses. The data were processed using chi-square and showed nurses psychopathology was associated with work load and role conflict (p,0.05). Conclusion.
