Abstract
Manual material handling ( MMH ) is often used in various fields of work . In addition to cheap, manual material handling activities is also flexible . However , the more often people do MMH activities will lead to continuous fatigue on someone . It also led to increased opportunities for physical injury . One form of work that causes injury is lifting activities . This is because no consideration of muscle strength . It is necessary for the holding of a study of muscle strength to be considered in the prevention of accidents. This study considers three main factors thought to affect large muscle strength , the muscle contraction , types of hand and also gender . Where there is a covariance variables used were BMI and physical activity . This study focuses on individuals with rage of aged 19-24 years. After collecting data by experimenting appointment , performed data analysis through design of experiments and regression approach dummy. This treatment is not only done for inter- factor , but also between muscle strength and maximum lifting force . The results of the analysis of experimental design states that the major factor affecting muscle strength at a = 0.05 is muscle contraction factor , factor types of hand and also the gender factor . Factors that influence on muscle strength then further processed to produce a dummy employ the regression equation for biceps , forearms and trapezius . This is also done for the big muscle strength and also of the power lift . The equations are then used to predict large maximum lifting power of a person based on their muscle strength . After considering all existing analysis , it can be concluded that muscle contraction factor, types of hand and gender also have a large influence on muscle strength generated . In addition, BMI and activity also has a relationship with muscle strength .
