This article is the summary from the findings of the rapid assessment conducted by Lembaga Penelitian Atma Jaya (LPA) several months ago. Facing the General Election (Pemilu) 2004 in Indonesia the research team attempt to explore the response of the business practitioners, whether they are concerned with the election so that they decide to reduce the business, or they are not and continue their business as usual. through a survey of 160 respondents and in-depth interview with 15 persons, we conclude that eventough they are worried about the uncertainties created by the political condition, they have confidences to continue their business. Some respondents answered these uncertainties by making some adjustments to their business strategy, reduce their external trips, re-evaluate their time frame of business, etc. But, they still do their business because they are also confident that stakeholders except them to continue their business as usual. We can say that this political transition does not have much influence in the business activities in Indonesia. Political uncertainties do not disturb the business activities. It is positive tendecy that has to be maintained in the next general election.
