Abstract
Nowadays obesity has become a health problem of nutrition in Indonesia, which arise due to lack of understanding in maintaining the body in a balanced nutritional status. Health Research (RISKESDAS) Indonesia 2007 recorded national prevalence of obesity at age greater than or equal to 15 years at 10.3%. Results of research conducted by Young, et al with the method in a population cohort of middle age, explain the correlation between obesity and the incidence of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). OSA is a breathing disorder characterized by the complete or partial obstruction of events during sleep (Sleep-related Breathing Disorder). The mechanism of OSA is still not clearly known, but various health experts researching to find high risk and explain the mechanism of obstruction in OSA. Through the literature study that has been done, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between obesity on the incidence of OSA.
