Introduction The prevalence of malnutrition of hospitalized patients still high, whether in developed or developing country, about 20-60%. The impact of malnutrition was prolonged the healing process of the patients, so the nutritional assessment must be done in every hospital. This study was a descriptive analytical with a cross-sectional method. Samples were hospitalized patients in Atma Jaya Hospital, age more than 18 years old, treated in surgery's ward, internal and neurologic disease's ward and Intensive care unit. Sample was taken from 1st of March until 30th of June in 2013. The data was collected from patient's nutritional status record. The prevalence of malnutrition, under-nutrition and over-nutrition of hospitalized patients in Atma Jaya Hospital is about 53.2%. 21.2% and 32% respectively. There is a relationship between patient nutritional status with age, type of disease and co-morbidities existence, however there is no relationship between sex and nutritional status. |
