Isi artikelWhen open to learn from experience, organizations could turn adolescents camps into an effective strategy for education and skill building. That is what happened in India. Under the leader of the Population and Develoipment Education (PDE) Cell of the State Resource Centre, two sets of camps have been set up in district of Rajashtan, Jaipur. Conducted in 2001, the first camp targeted adolscent girls in a village at Ajmer District. Taking cue from the lessons learned from the 2001 pilot camp, a pilot project featuring adolscent camps as one of its major activities was launched in Alwar and Sawai Madhopur District at the end of 2002. Thecamps in 2001 and 2002 as described below will show how PDE is getting better and better in harnessing the power of camps to build life skills of adolescents.
