Abstract
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) applications require an operating frequency within the ultra wideband range. Antenna is an important part in a GPR system, and it is crucial that the antenna used in a GPR system is designed as an UWB apparatus. This paper presents a number of modified dipole antennas for SFCW GPR which operating frequencies range from 50 MHz to 5 GHz. The numerical method used for the analysis is Method of Moment. The characteristics of the antennas are analyzed in both the frequency and time domains. The modified dipole antenna is designed with a microstrip structure on dielectric substrate FR4-epoxy(er = 4.4).
