Abstract
Surface roughness is an important factor in quality control of a product. There are some factor which effected surface roughness like cutting parameters and coolant that will be used. In this paper, a comparison between quality of surface roughness on different type of coolant will be done. The comparison will be done in 7 different cutting conditions using turning machine in a condition without coolant, coolant 1 and coolant 2. The surface roughness of work material will be measured with a surface roughness tester. All the data will be analyzed and compare to see which type of coolant that give the best result on the work material. The Result from measurement show that surface roughness is better using coolant than dry cutting.
