Infantile glaucoma continues to be a significant cause of visual loss in children throughout North America. Pediatricians must be able to recognize the presenting signs and symptoms of this treatable disease. An awareness of the congenital and systemic diseases associated with glaucoma can lead to an earlier diagnosis in many cases. This article reviews the pathogenesis and management of infantile glaucoma and many of the secondary glaucomas that occur during childhood.
