Achurch is built with its own historical backgrounds, typical construction and various issues, some of which are the ones regarding the government systems, its community, political and economic factors. This paper discusses the history of the establishment, the collapse of the building of the Dome Church of the Nieuw Hollandsche Kerk or the protestants Church of the Dutch Indies Company in the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century (1736-1808) in Batavia, and its existing function. The paper presents some findings regarding its pictures illustrated by many artists from many nations as the proof of its existence, historical factors of its establishment and collapse.
