This research aims to develop anthropometry data base in sitting posture of children in elementrary school age in Jakarta. This research use 257 students of Bunda Hati Kudus Elementrary School and MI Assanusiah which are private elementrary school located in Jakarta. Conventional method of measurement used in measuring the subjects. In addition to get both of the school's databases, the anthropometry data merged with the 957 public elementrary schools student's anthropometry data in the last (first) year research. It was performed in order to get a joint database between private and public elemirary schools that represents the population studied, the children of elementray school age in Jakarta. In addition to the database, this research also designing the standard size of school furniture for a elemirary school desks and chairs using the anthropometry database in sitting posture. This reaserch designed three alternative sizes, small, medium, and large that was different with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) that issued two alternatives of size. Based on the result of mismatch evaluation, the new design have bigger percentage of match with the user than SNI's. Beside that, the use of more than one alternative size of school furniture in one class can increase the percentage of match. |
