Current article is the second response to an article written by Hadi (2005):"The application of statistics in psychology department", focusing on topics related to significance test issues. These included interpretation of p-value, establishing significance level prior or posterior to the analysis, accuracy of successive significance test using more than one significance level, practical significance, and factors nfluencing significance test. The discussion leads to several conclutions. First, the interpretation of p value is very limited to the probability of getting statistics at least those found in the sample from a population with parameter of zero. Second, significance level can be set a priory or posteriori. Third, additional categorization of the significance level is not necessary, considering of no information regarding the effects of additional categorization on power analysis, type II error, and robustness. Fourth, practical significance is usually related to effect size, not to application of p-value in a certain context. Fifth, significance test is influenced by standard error of the statistics. Furthermore, the standard error of statistics is influenced by many other factors depending on analysis being used.
