| PT Sierad Produce Tbk is an integrated poultry-based food company in Indonesia and having a problem in it's subsidiary, Balaraja Feedmill where the company produce animal feed. The problem is inventory loss on raw material which give serious problem for company's financial. The purpose of this research is to analize and evaluate the checking process that held by quality control staff 'when the raw material arrive at feedmill, to find the main problem which cause the lossing of raw material weight, to calculating the inventory based on literature, and to give the solution for detracting the lossing ofraw material weight. The future raw materialplanning system will be based on current system and companypolicy. Atfirst before theplanning system is started, the research started bypreliminary study to get the main picture oftheproblem exist. After that observation and interviewing begin with theparties concernfor more detail information before further processed and examination. The processing of the received data being held with several applied disciplines such as business processes, inventory system model of Q, fishbone diagram, andfailure mode and effect measurement. Due to observation on company's business process, the problem of invetory loss occur when corn is on the storage process. This problem later crystallized into a fishbone diagram and obtained the proposal solution for continous improvement for tools, methods, materials, and environments. This amelioration should be done together because one improvement will affect the other. The result of Q inventory system show irrelevance result because the ordering period is to short (2 days), thats why the proposal strategy for corn purchasing is given. This strategy based on region classification with a consideration of corn's price. Based on calculation by using this proposal strategy, company could retrench the purchasing budget upto 16% in a year. For solving other minor problem, FMEA is the answer to minimizing corn weight loss on thefeedmill. |
