Abstract
PT Karya Multi Cemerlang is a company that delves in painting services for plastic vehicle components, primarily for 2 wheeled vehicles. The current machine scheduling plan applied for the company does not refer to a specific theorem which caused rejections in orders placed from the customers upon the company. On every rejected orders, there are lost opportunity contained within which is detrimental in collecting profits. The proposed machine scheduling plan to tackle said challenges is using Immunization Genetic Algorithm. The advantages of this algorithm are the immunization phase with vaccination that is specifically catered for the challenges faced by the company will end in a quicker result, increased immunity and reduced the probability of degeneration. The criterion for scheduling is to minimize Mean Flow Time. To produce the scheduling plan in a prompt and orderly manner, an application program was designed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. The data collected for the case study is from Order Receipt Summary for 2012 whereby through Immunization Genetic Algorithm, a decrease in Mean Flow Time Value is acquired. This proposed machine scheduling plan is proven to be much better than the current system adopted by the company with a decrease in Mean Flow Time to 24,1929 days.
