Abstract
On the machine element that has a stress concentration factor must be considered the maximum stress that can be given to the machine element to avoid failure of the machine elements. On this final project discusses how to determine the stress that occurs on the cantilever rod which has a stress concentration factor with bending loading with experimental and numerical. experimentally performed using strain gauges and strain indicator whereas numerically using the finite element method. From the research that has been done can be concluded that the stress analysis has been successfully carried out experimentally and numerically the cantilever rod with stress concentration with bending loading. Cantilever rod with hole stress concentration factors produce normal stress greater than the rod which has a stress concentration factor of the notch and without stress concentration factor. By comparison between experimental and numerical results on the rod with a hole concentration of 0.9% up to 2.09%, rod with notches concentration of 1.16% up to 8.78% and for the rod without the stress concentration of 19.97% up to 28.11%.
