Metabolic syndrome is a condition that can accelerate the occurrence of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. One of the factors that affect metabolic syndrome is fasting glucose levels >110 mg/dL. Waist-hip ratio which is an index of central obesity is also one factor that can lead to metabolic syndrome. In women, waist-hip ratio at risk is >0,85, whereas in men is >0,9. Research samples taken from 74 Rumah Sakit Atma Jaya employees. Data collected by the distribution of the questionnaires, followed by using a glucometer to take a blood sample. This is a descriptive research and outcome data were processed using SPSS version 15.0 program. Those 74 respondents consist of thirty-one men and forty-three women. From 74 respondents, the result showed 27 people (36,5%) had normal fasting glucose level, meanwhile 47 people (63,5%) classified as high fasting glucose criteria. |
