Teaching grammar as a part of EFL/ESL means the process of transferring systems of two languages. It means it involves the two languages having different rules. Grammar consists of pattern and rules needing a good memorizing. Regarding to the fact, it is needed a suitable method which can help student in understanding material optimally. One of the methods is mind mapping. The aim of the research is to describe how to perform and use mind map in teaching grammar. Mind map is one of methods suggested in quantum teaching given by Bobbi DePorter. However, the method itself developed by Tony Buzan. Mind map is a powerful graphic technique providing a universal key to unlock the potential of the brain. It harnesses the full range of cortial skills –word, image, number, logic, rhythm, spatial awareness- in a single, uniquely powerful manner (Buzan: 1993). The most important thing in performing mind map is imagination and association. He believes that teaching should be given with fun because it facilitates right brain storing information in long term memory .The right side of the brain: processes non-verbal, concrete, and spatial information, looks at similarities in patterns, forming a whole picture, and processing parts in relationship to the whole, and concerns itself with artistic abilities such as music and graphics (Greenenough and Wallace: 1993). Mind mapping is a great way of helping learner to understand certain topic. Human brain with a computer. A computer works in a linear fashion while the brain works associatively as well as linearly – comparing, integrating and synthesizing as it goes. Association plays a dominant role in nearly every mental function, and words themselves are no exception. Every single word and idea has numerous links attaching it to other ideas and concepts. Thus, the study discusses about (1) overview of teaching grammar in an ESL and EFL class setting, (2) teaching grammar strategy (3) how to make mind map for grammar (4) aspects in making mind map for grammar : line, association and imagination ( 5) some models of grammar materials in mind map form
