Isi artikelstudent diversity while at the same time promoting a uniformly high level of academic achievement for all students. Linda Campbell et all has come up with expert analysis of Dr. Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the knowledge to extend the theory to effective classroom practice. The theory, combined with the understanding of learning styles, provides teachers the best means of rising to the challenge. Multiple Intelligences is actually not a new theory for teachers in Indonesia. Some of the term might be. Every teacher, in a way, had developed students’ intelligences and teach the basic skills. However, maybe the endeavor is geared toward or based on one or two particular intelligence of the students only. Campbell through her book of Teaching and Learning through Multiple Intelligences has provided readyto- use assessment tools and lesson plans. The intelligences are defined throughout, a checklist is also provided for identifying them. In addition to that, suggestions of environmental considerations, and related teaching strategies are also offered. Following the plans, teachers somehow help developing students’ multiple intelligence in more sides and angles. Yet each model has particular strengths and weaknesses. During the workshop, the facilitator will lead the participants to try out some of the models offered. Then, the participants will be led to a discussion and analysis as well as sharing experience of the strengths and weaknesses and also the possibility of applying the model in the Indonesian setting. “If a child is not learning the way you are teaching, Then you must teach in the way the child learns.” (Rita Dunn, (from Anne Bruetsch’s Multiple Intelligences Lesson Plan Book)
