Natural resources have long been object of interests in conflict studies. In the case where a conflict is taking place in a region, which is known for its reources abundance, it is generally perceived that the conflict is closely related with the resources itself. This paper examines the effects of diamond smuggling practice in Sierra Leone on the country's internal conflict that occurred 1991-2002 by utilizing theotris of natural resources and the onset of war, greed and grievance as well as third-party intervention.
