Implementation of measures to design a table and chairs for elementary school students in Indonesia are less performed detailed anthropometric data by age groups of children. The tendency to use one type size table and chairs are the same for grades 1 to 6 SD is often applied to the elementary schools. In fact, the dimensions of the child's body is different between age groups. The use of tables and chairs that do not match the dimensions of a child's body can cause health problems in the complaint would be the child's body. Using a generalized measure is also found in SDN 04 Pagi Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta. In this school uses 2 types of sizes of small and large size, but the two measures are scattered at random in each grade from grade 1 to grade 6 elementary school irregularly, thus increasing mismatch between the dimension of the child's body with the use of tables and chairs. Measurements carried out on six dimensions of the body are sitting shoulder height, sitting elbow height, knee height, popliteal height, popliteal length and hip width, and compared to the dimensions of the two types of dimension tables and chairs are seat height, seat depth, seat width, backrest height, table height, and underneath table, calculated using the equation proposed by Gouvali and Boudolos (2006) as well as a subjective view of complaints will be perceived health problems for the students to use the table and chairs in the classroom. The calculation result shows the percentage of ismatch (mismatch) is greater than the corresponding percentage (match) between the imensions of the body against both types of dimension tables and chairs. Based on this recommendation then given dimension tables and chairs based on the 50th percentile anthropometric data of the students at SDN 04 Pagi Srengseng Sawah with the age group 7-8 years, 9-10 years, and 11-12 years. |
