Combined loading acting on a machine component results normal and shearing stress occurred on its body. Those stresses need to be analyzed in order to examine the safety of the use of the component. This final project research aims to analyze the value of principal stresses which resulted by combined loading on a component of a structure. Stress analysis includes theoretical, numerical, and experimental stress analysis. The numerical stress analysis is done by using finite element method, while the experimental stress analysis is done by using the strain rosette method. From this final project research can be concluded that the experimental stress analysis is successful with result which has 18.066% to 29.326% difference to the result of theoretical stress analysis and 20.643% to 31.498% difference to the result of the numerical stress analysis. |
