The depletion of energy sources that can not be renewable again, makes us to anticipate it by looking for energy sources that can renewable back. One source of energy that can diterbarukan back is the wind, which is usually made into a wind turbine. There are two types of wind turbines, namely wind turbines horizontal and vertical wind turbines. In the vertical wind turbines are divided again into two, namely: savonius wind turbines, and wind turbine Darrieus or type - H. In the vertical wind turbines do not need a rectifier wind and the design is simpler. Therefore, in this final selected wind turbine type - H as a specimen for testing. Many ways to improve performance on a wind turbine, one of which is the number of blades used. Research conducted in this thesis aims to investigate the effect of the number of blades on the performance of the wind turbine type - H by using the number of blades 2, 3, and 4. The completion of this study is to look at data from the third number of blades used, the rotation, torque, tip speed ratio (TSR) and the coefficient of power with the help of simulation software ANSYS 13.0 to see the countour of wind flow in the third the number of blades. The results showed that the number of blade rotation and torque influence on wind turbines, so that performance can be obtained also affected as well. |
