The article is the first response to an article written by Hadi (2005) about the application of statistics in psychology department. Current response is focused on Hadi's (2005) statement about SPSS' limitation to analyze pairwise comparison after analysis of variance. The earlier parts of the article are discussing briefly about analysis that can be conducted after analysis of variance, included analysis of simple effects, especially when analysis of variance includes more than one independent variables, and contrast analysis that cover topics about pairwise comparison analysis, complex pairwise comparison analysis, and trend analysis (Howell, 1982; Keppel & Wickens, 2004; Supratiknya, 2000). The writer then presents the way of using syntax/lmatrix (SPSS Inc., 2007a) to conduct pairwise comparison analysis that actually has been provided by SPSS.
