Every day around 6000 tons of micrometeorites 1 mm less in size fall to the earth's surface. This material is interesting because it dates to the birth of the solar system 4.6 billion years ago. Micrometeorites often float in the atmosphere until they are "swept" down by rain. This paper describes a simple method of collecting iron micrometeorites by examining rain water.
