PT. Expanda Metal Megah currently planning to optimize its inventory so as to reduce the risk of shortages and reduce excess inventory piles because the products are not sold out. Expanded Metals of PT. Expanda Metal Megah has a unique process production characteristics in which a unit of metal raw materials can produce some finished products. This makes it necessary to do the planning needs of the finished product to determine the amount of raw materials that need to be prepared, hence the study was conducted for the finished product inventory planning that results will be converted into the information needs of the raw materials necessary to anticipate consumer demand. PT. Expanda Metal Megah has 63 types of expanded metal where each type of product has the different demand. To determine proper inventory planning, the identification of the demand characteristics of the product by using the ABC classification. Based on the classification results, there are nine types of expanded metals that have fast moving demand characteristics and the rest is slow-moving products. Product inventory planning with demand characteristics of fast moving will use inventory planning model Q. Information arising from the planning of this inventory is the orders quantity and reorder point products. While the product inventory planning with demand characteristics of slow-moving will use the inventory planning model P, Joint Replenishment approach that produces the primary form of interval ordering information and expectations combined demand during lead time and ordering interval. The results of inventory planning generated a total inventory cost of Rp 7,466,303,970, -. These results are lower than the total cost of inventory that needs to be issued by the company in the same period. This research will be designing the layout of the warehouse by using a dedicated method, a class-based method, and randomized method.
