Those who, like Norwood Hanson, believe that observation is theory-laden and what both observation and theories in science are not value-free, try to infuse ethical values into science education, by attempting to make "science in society" an integral part of science curricula, along with other policies. there are also people, including C. A. van Peursen and the writer, who think that we should seriously consider ethical judgements as part of scientific rationality. In this article the writer looks at "science in society" courses and shows the parallelims of scientific and ethical reasoning.
