At present, the working performance of STIKOM LSPR’s employees is being highlighted by the students since the services delivered to the students sometimes do not meet to their expectation. This can be seen from the annual monitoring report and evaluation about the students’ satisfaction level (the difference between performance and expectation). The service quality and customer’s satisfaction is an interlocked system, which means the service quality level will decrease as the level of customer’s satisfaction diminish. On the other side, the service quality is very much depending on several factors such as employee’s working performance, communication atmosphere at work place and employee’s interpersonal relationships. The improvement in working performance is expected to be able to increase the working efficiency, which means productivity enhancement to finally achieve the organization’s goal. The performance of an organization is strongly related to the individual’s working performance, therefore the efforts in improving the organization’s performance must initially start from upgrading its employee performance quality. When there is no improvement in organization’s performance nor it is less than expected, it will bring negative impacts, such as unsuccessful in reaching the targets, delay on finalizing organization’s goal, which finally fall short in realizing its vision and mission. The research method used in this research is causal studies. The causal studies are study methods used to test a hypothesis to better understand cause and effect relationships, in this case to analyze if the independent variables of leaderships and interpersonal communication can influence the dependent variables of employee’s performance. The research subjects are STIKOM LSPR’s 65 (sixty five) employees. The data gathering techniques used is survey method, with closed format questions in the questionnaire. In this method, the respondent chose one available answer, with alternative answer consists of interval value of 1 up to 5. The result of the research shows the relationship between leadership style (X1) with employee performance (Y) towards STIKOM LSPR with correlation value 0,449 (quite strong) and positive. It is found out that there is a relationship between interpersonal communication (X2) with employee performance (Y) towards STIKOM LSPR with correlation value 0,345 (weak) and positive (linear). There is a quite strong, positive and significant relationship between the leadership and interpersonal communication with employee’s performance towards STIKOM LSPR. The result is gained from double regression test which resulted on R square or Determination Coefficient 0,205 which means that 20,05% working performance variables are related to the leadership style and interpersonal communication, the rest about 79,95% is caused by other factors. |
