Currently, thre eof the main character is tics that have become a global benchmark in the development of the internal combustion engine are high performance, high efficiency and low exhaust emissions. One way forward is to utilize the energy wasted,by mounting a butterfly valve on the exhaust system. The use of the exhaust valve has been widely applied to the internal combustion engine, with large capacity and multiple cylinders. Research has been carried out to determine the effect of the addition of the exhaust valve to the four-stroke internal combustion engine with a single cylinder. The type of research are out is experimental research. The study is carried outby comparing the power, torque, specific fuel consumption and exhaust emissions before and after the installation of valves. The test results show that the increase in maximum torque is 4.2%, the increase in maximum power is 6.6%, specific fuel consumption decreases by 26.4%, and average levels of CO, and HC, respectively decrease by 10.13%, and 7.51%. |
