Fluticasone furoate (FF), with a novel drug-delivery system, is the first prescription, once-daily nasal spray to demonstrate consistent and significant improvement in relieving nasal and ocular symptoms, and meaningful improvement in quality of life in patients with intermittent and presistent allergic rhinitis. Moreiver, the ince-daily dose (55 µg) appears to be optimally effective and safe in the treatment of children with intermittent allergic rhinitis aged 2-12 years. The FF 110 µg dose (two sprays in each nostril once a day) presents a single treatment option in adult allergic rhinitis with nasal and ocular symptoms. the greatest advantage of the novel FF drug-delivery system over current internasal steroids is enhanced-affinity glucocorticoid with a scent-free formulation.
