Isi artikelThis study is aimed to identify the economic development driver industry by type and scale, and to analyze the capability of an industry to trigger other economic sector to become economic development driver. Multiplier analysis of Social Accounting Matrix is performed on 38 endogen variables which covering 27 production sectors, 2 industry factor, 7 household groups and 2 institutional balances, and 4 exogenous balances which covering capital balance, indirect tax, subsidize and the rest of the world. Based on analysis result, it is proven that small and medium scale processing industry play more significant role in creating high economic growth and income distribution parity compared to large scale processing industry. Although the large scale industry contribute less strategic role in economic growth and income distribution, it contributes more significant role in income generation for government and private sector. Anticipating to this condition, discriminative economic policy by scale by industry is not advisable to be implemented. Agro-industry is a national economic development driver sector because of dominating the mutiplier coefficient value of gross output, forward and backward interrelationships, value added, factorials, and income. The prioritized types of agro-industries are food, beverages and tobacco, woven, textile and leather, and wood and wooden based industry.
