Abstract
Measurement of working time is one of the competencies gained by students of industrial engineering. Measurement of working time is divided into two methods which is direct working time measurement and indirect working time measurement. Measurement of working time is recently used for industrial production scheduling. Time is the mostly used criteria of working time measurement. The research uses direct working time measurement with stopwatch time study method and implementation of application. Stopwatch time study method; therefore, is a calculation to find the standard time which the observer uses directly by using a stopwatch as a main tool. Standard time is the time that has become a benchmark of workers which is they are working well, normal or less. To obtain the standard time is required performace rating and allowance factor. The purpose of the research is making a software of the standard time measurement with stopwatch time study method that can be used for lecturing and practicum subject. The purpose of this software is to accelerate the calculation of standard time and simplify in providing performance rating and allowance factor. The methodology used in the research is using the guidelines of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle ). The steps are the planning phase, analysis phase, design phase and testing phase of application programs. The software can calculate the statistical test calculation (normality test, sufficiency test and uniformity test) which are needed in the calculation of standard time stopwatch time study method. It can also calculate the cycle time, normal time and standard time. It calculates in two ways of the standard time calculation which are continuous stopwatch time study and snapback stopwatch time study. It also manage to calculate some standard time implementation, such as plant rate calculation, number of machines calculation and labour cost calculation. It is designed by visual studio 2008 with VB.Net programming languages. The results of the calculations have been validated by manual calculation.
