Abstract
Anthropometry is one of ergonomic branch of science which studies the dimension of human body. The measurement of human body can be divided into two categories that is traditional measurement method and modern measurement method. The goal of this research is to develop the modern anthropometry measurement which based on the image processing. The expected outputs from this research are anthropometry measurement program based on image processing and standard procedure of human body measurement for modern method. This research is measuring seventeen standing postures of human body and using thirty sample of male as the subjects.
This research can be divided into three major steps, the measurement of human body dimension with traditional method, building of image processing measurement program, and modern measurement method using photos of the research subjects. The output from traditional measurement will be used as comparison and reliability test for modern measurement method. The image processing measurement program was made from Matlab R2009a software. This program is called IPFAM (Image Processing for Anthropometry measurement). The photos for modern measurement method were taken three times to minimized error from the photos.
The output from both measurement method will be compared each other to test the reliability of modern measurement method. This reliability test is using the paired t-test method from Minitab 14 software. The results show that there are eight human body dimensions which have different means between modern measurement and traditional measurement method. The correction factor will be added for that eight human body dimensions. This correction factor is needed to minimize the error from distortion parallax and perspectives effect from the photos.
