Transfer of tacit knowledge is a way of tacit knowledge utilization and conservation organizations. The organization shall utilize and maintain the tacit knowledge possessed by tacit knowledge is a source of competitive advantage. Difficulties in maintaining tacit knowledge related to the nature of tacit organizational knowledge embedded in individuals. This has created opportunities for the loss of tacit knowledge organization in case of turnover of the organization. Transfer of tacit knowledge plays an important role in preventing the loss of tacit knowledge organization. A model of the transfer of tacit knowledge will be able to assist and empower organizations to manage tacit knowledge possessed. This paper presents a model of tacit knowledge transfer focused on the transfer of tacit knowledge between individuals within a division. This model is designed with the theories of previous researchers and consider the various factors supporting and inhibiting the transfer of tacit knowledge. The model consists of six constructs: the characteristic of the source, recipient characteristics, characteristics of tacit knowledge, organizational context, media characteristics, and effectiveness of the transfer of tacit knowledge. Validation of the model implemented in an enterprise engaged in the manufacture of cables in Indonesia. Respondents are members of Production Planning Control division. The data processing method was used Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Square approach. The result of data processing showed that the key factors that influence the effectiveness of the process of transferring tacit knowledge between individuals in a single division is the ability to teach source, recipient absorptive capacity, evidence, and trust. |
